This course is for anyone whose work brings them into contact with children and young people; or for those working for an organisation that provides services for families or communities. The course is aimed at those people who want to know more about safeguarding, how to spot child abuse, and understand what their role is in safeguarding This course is suitable for those who have previously undertaken safeguarding training online and those who have never received safeguarding training before.
By the end of the course, those attending will:
- Understand the terms ‘safeguarding’ and ‘child abuse’
- Have considered how child abuse happens, and the different forms it can take
- Be confident in how to recognize that child abuse might be happening
- Have knowledge of what they and others should do when they have safeguarding concerns, and who to approach for advice
